Update : Pre-release of my AppleTV2 Utils app. Download the app here (Works for iOS4 and iOS5)
1. Copy ATV2_Utils.frappliance.tar.gz to /Applications/AppleTV.app/Appliances
2. Unpack with Cyberduck or in terminal app with : ‘tar fxpz ATV2_Utils.frappliance.tar.gz’
3. Restart your AppleTV2 : ‘Killall -9 AppleTV’
You can also use this deb file to install
1. Copy ATV2_utils_beta.deb to /var/root/Media
2. install with ‘dpkg -i ATV2_utils_beta.deb’
3. Restart your ATV with ‘Killall -9 AppleTV’
Use ‘Memory Info’ to check your media play performance in XBMC.
You can check the caches size, or you syslog file. When you cleanup these over time growing files, you’ll get a better performance.
Next release will have a system menu, with a one-push cleanup action (I hope) and other shell commands to perform from the system menu.
