Here\u2019s some incredibly interesting news from today\u2019s iOS \u00a0<\/span>update<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>Apple today released iOS 6.1\u00a0<\/span>(or, in\u00a0<\/span>Apple TV talk, 5.2<\/span>) for an\u00a0heretofore unknown Apple TV called \u201cApple TV 3,2\u2033. You can download it\u00a0<\/span>here<\/a>. Apple\u2019s current Apple TV \u2014 version 3,1 \u2014 was updated to 1080p with a single-core A5 processor in March 2012.<\/span><\/h2>\n

On the conservative side, this may just be a new set of chips cobbled together to do the same thing as the current model. On the optimistic\/speculative side, this could\u00a0foreshadow a new hardware product coming up soon.\u00a0Perhaps one with a large LCD attached?<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s addition of Bluetooth\u00a0today could also signal \u00a0that a new Apple TV package would have some sort of Bluetooth keyboard\/remote-type of functionality (Siri?). There are already\u00a0a number of Bluetooth keyboards out there that cater to TV users, but Apple could certainly change the game in this regard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
