This Article is created to Clearly explain, Only Nightly Built XBMC with latest package will work on iOS 4.4.3, but again This Nightly Built XBMC Package still beta and under going heavy Work to improve and make things more compatible. Yes this package do have little bugs and it will crash here and there but mostly working fine.
Just little side note, mostly this package will work with standard Definition Videos and Some 720P Videos, and Plugins will work, but we can’t help you if it don’t work…
1) Jailbreak your AppleTV with Seas0nPass according to the following jailbreak:

2) Log into you AppleTV via ssh:
$ ssh root@< your ATV2 IP address >
root@< your ATV2 IP address >’s password: ”enter your password here, it should be “alpine” if you haven’t changed it”
3) Make update on the AppleTV:
$ apt-get update
$ apt-get -f install
4) Download the latest beta nightly build of XBMC
$ wget http://xctechs.info/files/xbmc-20111202-6729214-master-atv2.deb
5) Install the XBMC you just downloaded
$ dpkg -i xbmc-20111202-6729214-master-atv2.deb (then hit enter and wait until its done)
6) Install seatbelt unlock ( this is the sandbox fix )
$ apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock
7) Just to make sure that all dependencies have been installed properly:
$ apt-get -f install
Block your Apple TV from checking with Apple for iOS updates
Go To nitoTV and install UpdateBeGone
9) Respring your system
$ killall AppleTV
11) close the ssh connection and enjoy XBMC on your AppleTV
12) if you experience Audio Issues try this fix:-From Apple TV menu set yourdevice in new Audio Mode > Menu settings option to 16 bit audioSettings>Audio & Video>Audio Output and change it from “Auto” to “16 bit

After I type
wget http://xctechs.info/files/xbmc-20111202-6729214-master-atv2.deb
I get an error. “HTTP request sent, awaiting response… 404 Not Found”
Why is this? How do I fix it?

Just checked that link right now and our website is up and running, file is there, do me a favor, make sure your PC is connected to Internet and try again it will work

Hi, I’ve followed this guide (and many others) to install the XBMC nightlies (I’ve got jb’d 4.3 with XBMC running fine).
I can see XBMC in the main menu structure but if I select it, it just black-screens and seems to restart the ATV (it’s not because I don’t need a tethered boot).
Either way, I cannot use the XBMC – any ideas????

if you installed the XBMC from nitoTV then it wont work, if you followed my guidline to install nightly built xbmc then it will work
try again to install don’t uninstall just directly install over

I’ve followed these instructions (and many others) to install the XBMC nightlies.
I can see XBMC in the menu structure, but if I click on it the ATV black-screens for 10-20s and then the main menu reappears!
Any ideas???

Install over the existing the XBMC but install this Nightly Built XBMC and not the one from nitoTV and it will work

It gets stuck on Preparing to replace (been about 30 mins) what am I doing wrong?
Then restart appleTV and your pc and try again

it has been replaced your current it should work now
after re-install everything again like 3 time work fine.

hello ive just purchased a apple tv 2 and it is running firmware version 4.4.4 when ever i jailbroke the apple tv 2 and got nitotv and xbmc and even tryed the nightly versions of xbmc. but whenever i click on the xbmc tab in your apple tv 2 menu it shows a black screen and push me back to the menu do you have anything i can do to get my xbmc working
you need to Ssh Latest Nightly Built XBMC and it will work for you
