nitoTV is burning the midnight oil and has tweeted a new repository from which you can grab the first GUI-based AppleTV2 app (technically a Lowtide plugin), which currently has weather and RSS functionality.
To use it, do the following:
-
1) Open Terminal and SSH into it (ssh root@your-ip-address). Type in the password (alpine)
2) Type "passwd" and enter a new password (if you haven't already)
3) Type: echo "deb http://apt.awkwardtv.org ./" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/awkwardtv.list
4) Type: apt-get update
5) Type: apt-get install com.nito.nitoTV
6) Type: killall Lowtide
7) After everything is done, unplug and plug it back in, wait for your AppleTV to reboot
8) Enjoy

Hi, I was having a problem with XBMC where it would no longer let me change any settings for some reason. Everything else worked but I could not make changes to any options in the settings.
I decided to do nightly and it downgraded me from 09 to 07Have yet to see if the systems error has been fixed, but why did it downgrade??

Followed your instructions but I get in step 5 :
dependency problems prevent configuration of org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2:
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 depends on org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock; however:
Package org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock is not installed.
Taking Step 6 gives:
Package org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock has no installation candidate
So I am lost……., any advice on hoe to get this working?
$ echo “deb http://apt.saurik.com/ tangelo-3.7 main”>/etc/apt/sources.list.d/saurik.list
$ apt-get update
$ apt-get -f install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
try this first before you go to seatbeltunlock
Tried that bit it gives:
apt-get -f install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

I Jb’d this ATV with seas0nPass without problems but fail on installing XBMC or Nitotv
the posting i have where your writting, i am sure if you seen my link is not linked to xbmc since the link is always not online

3) Make update on the AppleTV:
4) Download the latest beta nightly build of XBMC
5) Install the XBMC you just downloaded
(then hit enter and wait until its done)
6) Install seatbelt unlock ( this is the sandbox fix )
7) Just to make sure that all dependencies have been installed properly:
Block your Apple TV from checking with Apple for iOS updates
Go To nitoTV and install UpdateBeGone
9) Respring your system

Well, downloaded all from that link but still no luck.
After downloading and installing seatbeltunlock, i now get:
dpkg -i org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock.deb

This drives me nuts, but not giving up (yet)!
The Seatbuilt my friend i wrote down you need to contact XBMC support form it self to see why its not online….
